Community Management + Indie Games
My name is Cian Rice and I'm BostonFIG's Social Media Manager, a Community Forum Moderator at Electronic Arts in Galway, Ireland, and the founder of Spraoi - an indie game studio working on CLOCKBOUND EP. Previously I was a product-owner and support specialist at Elm Street Technology, board member of the Woo! Game Pile, and member of the publishing team at Harmonix Music Systems holding roles in both community management and web content management.
I'm passionate about the art of creating games, and the communities that play games. As a longtime player and a creator for almost the same amount of time, I strive to educate both players and developers on what the other party is thinking. As a player I'm into a wide array of genres but consider my favorites to be JRPGs, music/rhythm games, and survival horror. Metroidvanias are a close fourth. I love both indie and AAA titles - with some of my recent faves being titles like Minit, God of War, Yakuza 6, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy XV, Dead Cells, and The Messenger.
When not making, thinking about, or playing games - I like listening to music. Right now I'm listening to the new Mitski album, Be the Cowboy, I'm All Ears by Let's Eat Grandma, Bad Witch by Nine Inch Nails and many, many other singles + albums. I also love karaoke and have been struggling to learn guitar for the past year or so.
